Hall Tree
26W x 26D x 78H
persimmon, oak, mountain laurel
I knew I had to find an appropriate use for this extraordinary specimen of worm-eaten persimmon. While this trunk stood dead in a horse pasture, insects carved an incredible texture under the bark. It took a great deal of wire brushing and cleaning to expose the patterns, but I think it was worth it. The seat is sculpted from white oak and the “antlers” from mountain laurel.
